Youth Engagement for Peace:

Building the Future Today

In a world often divided by conflict, inequality, and misunderstanding, the role of young people as catalysts for peace has never been more vital. Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow — they are the changemakers of today.

With energy, creativity, and resilience, young people are uniquely positioned to challenge the status quo, bridge divides, and lead initiatives that foster dialogue, tolerance, and sustainable development. From organizing community peace clubs and climate action projects, to leveraging social media for advocacy, youth are demonstrating that peace is not passive — it is a proactive, courageous choice.

However, meaningful youth engagement goes beyond token involvement. It means giving young people a seat at the table where decisions are made. It means investing in their education, mental health, and leadership development. It means recognizing their potential not just as beneficiaries of peace, but as its architects.

The United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security recognizes the critical role youth play in building and sustaining peace. It calls on governments and institutions to support youth-led efforts and protect young peacebuilders from violence, exclusion, and marginalization.

We believe peace is possible — but it demands action. It demands that we listen to young voices, amplify their efforts, and support their visions for a more just, inclusive, and peaceful world.

Here’s what Resolution 2250 means for you:
